今天的早些时候，大家期盼已久的MSN Virtual Earth终于发布了。虽然大家都说是官方的发布要等到周一，但是今天可能是所谓的soft launch。网站在七月六七号就可以上了，但是今天才有真正的内容。 作为微软的又一模仿力作，当然要有比前辈google拿得出手的东西才行。微软自己称这是一个将地区的搜索和地图结合起来的服务，它可以让用户缩放地图，找到城市的街道，饭店或者起来那些你想找到的东西。使用现在最时髦的AJAX技术作的。与google的卫星照片不同的是，他的各种搜索服务的照片是有一个叫Pictometry International Corp得纽约公司提供的，他们会使用小飞机在空中拍下照片，所以估计照片会比卫星照片清楚很多。但是从现在的Virtual Earth来看，好像还都是卫星照片。
